Divorce Lawyer in Cleveland, Ohio
Over 25 Years of Experience Handling Divorce and Separation Matters
When you are going through the process of ending a marriage, you want an experienced attorney to help you make the right decisions. Often, negotiated agreements regarding child custody and visitation, support and property settlements can be in everyone's best interests, minimizing stress and helping the parties work together over a long period of time. In other instances, though, litigation may be the only way to get what you need. You want an attorney who has successfully worked with others in divorce and separation proceedings, who will know when you should settle and when you should go to trial.
At the law offices of Ellen S. Mandell, I bring extensive experience to men and women who have concerns involving divorce or separation. Over the last three decades, I have built a successful practice based on a commitment to personal service, earning a reputation among my peers and former clients as an honest and trustworthy advocate. Your needs and interests will always be my priority. Contact me by e-mail or call 216-771-7080 to schedule a free initial consultation.
Because I know from experience the toll that divorce litigation can take on families, especially children, I encourage clients, whenever possible, to resolve family law disputes through negotiation or mediation. I recognize, however, that some issues simply cannot be resolved by agreement. When necessary, I will aggressively litigate to protect your interests.
In my practice, I place special emphasis on the needs of children in divorce and separation proceedings. I serve as a guardian ad litem in the domestic relations court and know firsthand the difficulties many children face in divorce proceedings. I counsel clients to always consider the needs of their children first and have employed experts in medicine, education and psychology to demonstrate the best interests of minor children.
My Collaborative Law Approach
My preference with all clients is to take a collaborative approach to the resolution of divorce and family law matters. In the collaborative approach, both parties agree to resolve disputes without the intervention of the judge and the courts. The parties are represented by counsel, but jointly employ experts, including child psychologists and financial planners, to formulate solutions regarding child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support and the equitable distribution of debts and assets. If the parties must obtain a ruling from the court, the parties must end their relationship with their attorneys. By approaching the problem in this manner, family resources can be preserved and potential problems going forward can be avoided.
